We cannot thank you all enough for allowing your child to be part of our youth field hockey league. This is our 3rd year with a youth program, and we have seen such a tremendous amount of growth! We are so excited to see the game of field hockey grow and to see young athletes fall in love with this sport. 

We have a few very important reminders before the season begins:

This is a YOUTH REC league. There is a reason there is no scoreboard or paid officials at our games and that is because it is a LEARNING LEAGUE. This means All skill levels are given the same opportunity to learn. Please remember this also means that the some of the officials are High school students who are learning as well.

There is no money prize at the end, no medal or trophy. SPORTSMANSHIP MATTERS. Being a good leader matters. Setting the example matters. At the end of the day, it is NOT about winning and losing. It is NOT about who scored or how many goals an individual player had. It is NOT about starting each game or playing every minute. It is NOT about playing one position and being a ball hog. 

It is about having FUN. It is about learning the SKILLS of field hockey - passing, pulling right, shooting. It is about ENCOURAGING your teammates. It is about CHEERING FOR EVERYONE and taking turns sitting out. It is about RESPECTING your coaches. It is about learning to HONOR OFFICIALS and the calls they make. It is about falling in love with a sport that offers so much on and off the field.  

We do reserve the right to ask any adult (whether you are a coach or spectator) to exit the grounds for unruly, distracting and deliberate behavior.
