Potential Coaches: You will find the required steps and documentation needed to complete your registration below.
Assistant Coaches:
You must register a USALacrosse membership as per insurance requirements. https://membership.uslacrosse.org/login ($55,valid for 1 year) INCLUDES NCSI BACKGROUND SCREENING - APPROVED AS CHILD ABUSE, STATE, AND FBI CHECKS/CLEARANCES - AND SAFE SPORT TRAINING IF YOU HAVE AN ADULT COACH MEMBERSHIP.
Once registered through RheemsAA, please upload your photo to your account. Then under your profile to the left, click "volunteer". You will need to search for available volunteer opportunities and find the coach opportunity you are looking for. (Head or Assistant) This is where you will upload your documents to. In another tab, pull up USLacrosse https://membership.uslacrosse.org/login. Create an account and choose the option for "I coach lacrosse". (This will allow you to access background reports and SafeSport through this membership free.) If you already have an account and are not a coach member, email this address: [email protected] Give them you name, membership number, and inform them you are trying to register as a coach. They will manually switch the account for you. Complete the NCIS background check and SafeSport training through the site. Finally, you will need your Heads Up Concussion Awareness certificate through https://www.train.org/cdctrain/course/1089818/ You will need to create an account and complete your training. SafeSport and Heads Up will give you a certificate of completion to upload under your registration. The NCSI screening will take 3-5 days for you to receive. Once received, upload your USALacrosse membership, SafeSport, and Heads Up certificates to complete your registration.
Head Coaches:
Please follow steps above as well as complete the trainings for a level 1 certification through USALacrosse. Trainings are free, but you must attend a workshop for the final step https://www.uslacrosse.org/coaches/coach-development-program/certification/level-1-certification ($35) Once completed, you will only need to upload your membership card after receiving NSCI background "green light" and your Heads Up certificate. Your membership will validate all other clearances required.
Returning Coaches:
Assistants: USALacrosse membership, SafeSport, and Heads Up need renewed yearly. NCSI background check is valid for 2 years.
Heads: USALacrosse membership, SafeSport, and Heads Up need renewed yearly. NCSI background check is valid for 2 years. Level 1 Certifications do not expire.
